Snakes on a Highway!

Thumbless & without proper water transportation snakes hitchhike in dangerous conditions....

(Pelotas, Brazil) On the highway BR-116 between the southern cities of Porto Alegre and Pelotas there were armadillos, gerble-like rodents, geese, ducks, chickens, hawks, chicken-hawks, cows, cats, dogs, frogs, what appeared to be strips of dried alligator skin, the world’s most ungrateful ladybug, and snakes…on a highway!…it’s almost too blog-worthy….

  1. Trevor,

Thanks for this post. Of course I prefer to see snakes alive but I’ll take DOR over nothing anyday! (That’s Dead On Road in snake-people talk.)

    • I basically wrote this post for you. Not basically. I wrote this post for you. As a grateful reader, you now must identify each snake. I was dying to know which were poisonous and which where not. I recently stayed with a family for four days in a city called Pelotas. While I was there their chocolate lab was bit in the nose by a venomous snake and had to receive an anti-venom. Its head swelled double its normal size. Wish I could tell you the name of the snake….
